A Day in Nairobi for Form Fours

18th September 2025

For every generation of students, trips out of school are a highlight of their time with us. The Form Fours, plus a few extras from the other classes, recently spent a day in Nairobi. Their first stop was the Nairobi Terminus railway station, where they learnt all about train travel, enjoyed sitting in the first class waiting room and plucked up the courage to use the escalators and lifts! Next came Wilson Airport, where, unfortunately, they could not learn so much because the noise of the aircraft made their guide almost inaudible! Finally they went to the National Museum, which features Kenya's history, wildlife and culture and has a snake park and aquarium in its grounds.

The day gave the students first-hand experience of topics they have learnt in many of their school subjects, as well as a chance to relax and enjoy themselves. Here's what some of them have to say about the experience:

"The trip was wow! What a spectacular day!"

"It was so enjoyable to be on such a journey with my classmates."

"I had never been to Nairobi before and the view of it was exhilarating."

"Some of us could not believe that from our villages we had made it to the city."

"I was amazed as it was my first time to see such tall buildings and to see places I only know from books and pictures."

"We set off with so much zeal, zest and expectation, and we got back tired out but very well equipped with information."

"I saw things which I have been yearning to see for many years."

"The trip was educational, fun, superb!"

"I don't take this opportunity for granted but grasp lessons learnt from the trip and will use them for a better tomorrow."

"It was a wonderful journey, I enjoyed everything including our delicious lunch."

"It is a day that I will always remember.
