Our student sponsorship programme is a key part of Kisima - not only as a source of financial support, but also for the links that develop between students and sponsors. This mostly happens through letter-writing, but occasionally there is a chance to meet, as was the case for Beatrice and Sarah.

Beatrice finished here in 2023 and is now studying to be a secondary school teacher with a scholarship from the David Mahungu Leadership Foundation, while Sarah, who has been a supporter of Kisima for twenty years, was visiting Kenya from the UK. They have this to say about their experiences:

Beatrice: 'I am forever grateful to have studied at Kisima and to have been supported by Sarah for the four years. I am the eighth in a family of nine children, and the first to go to university. I am so glad to meet Sarah, who is such a good-hearted and cheerful lady. She is an inspiration to me and I would like to be like her in future - giving back to society.'

Sarah: 'It's so encouraging that Beatrice is now at university, and to know that the reason for this was the opportunity Kisima gave her. Meeting her was inspiring and I can't wait to see what the future holds for her.'
