Kisima Friend
We would love you to become a 'Kisima Friend'.
Some of our Kisima Friends are former sponsors who want to continue their regular giving to Kisima School through TEFT but do not want to continue to sponsor a student.
Others have had contact with Kisima School through visiting or volunteering at the school and want to contribute to the future of the school through one-off donations or regular giving.
Kisima School has also had many 'gap year' students from the UK undertake voluntary work at the school over the years and they love keeping in touch with the progress of students at the school through being a Kisima Friend.
As a Kisima Friend you will receive regular newsletters from Kisima School and updates on significant events.
There are two ways to complete the donation form to become a Kisima Friend:

Sponsor a Child
Sponsoring a Kisima School student is an immensely rewarding experience. You can exchange letters/emails and will receive an annual report on your student’s progress. Kisima also warmly welcomes visitors to the school.
We ask for a minimum monthly donation of £30 (although the actual monthly cost for each student is £100, so any amount you feel able to give over £30 will be gratefully received). 'Students are allocated sponsors a few weeks into the academic year, which begins in early January, however there may be a small number of students available at times during the year due to individual sponsors’ circumstances.

Fundraising
The work of TEFT is made possible only through the support of individuals, churches, schools, businesses, and other groups. If you would like to get involved with raising much needed funds, either by joining a planned event, or running your own event, contact Susie Turnbull at fundraising@teft.com
Current fundraising events include: Climbing Mt Blanc, a 100km Sponsored Canal Walk and a School Fundraiser.
Past events have included: sponsored skydives, walking the South Downs Way, sponsored mini triathalon, cycling London to Paris, cycling ‘coast to coast’, selling homemade jam, selling cream teas and organising a concert.
Most events are to raise money for much needed general funds to support Kisima School’s annual running costs. Occasionally fundraising events are held to raise money for specific projects.
Volunteering
Kisima School has welcomed a number of ‘gap year’ students and other volunteers across a wide age range! Volunteers can help in a number of ways at the school – teaching, organising sports activities, helping in the office, working on the school farm and with the many vegetable plots on the school site, helping with extra-curricular activities and school clubs. Placements, for individuals or small groups, range from a week to a term.
